Chickasaw Brand Hardwood Flooring is one of the oldest hardwood flooring brands in the world.  In 1905, a group of seven lumbermen in the Memphis, Tennessee area formed the company to produce hardwood flooring. The purpose was to give these lumber companies an outlet for the flooring grade lumber produced in abundance by the saw mills operated by these lumber companies.  Chickasaw was a key contributor to Memphis being given the title of “the hardwood capital of the United States.”

    Over the years, the ownership group has changed periodically.  In the fall of 2007 the Chickasaw Brand was acquired by Jim Duke, in partnership with the Barnes lumber group in Hamburg, Arkansas.  The Chickasaw Brand is being produced just as it has been for over 100 years.  The widely recognized logo is still identified as a symbol of superior quality and service.
